Greetings,
The Kent County Bird Club will hold its first meeting of the 2007-2008
season on Tuesday, 11 September at 7:30 PM at Heron Point in
Chestertown. The program for the evening will be "Twenty years of
changing bird life: Results of the 2002-2006 Maryland/D.C. Atlas
Project:", presented by Atlas Coordinator Walter Ellison. A number of
the state's breeding birds have increased dramatically over the last
twenty years, while others have declined, some alarmingly. We will
compare range maps from the state's two bird atlases and offer some
thoughts on the basis for changes seen over the last two decades. We
hope to see many of you there.
Our meetings are held in Wesley Hall, in the Heron Point community at
the end of East Campus Ave in Chestertown. East Campus Ave is the light
on Washington Ave (MD-213) at the south edge of the Washington College
campus. If headed north, turn right, if headed south, turn left off of
Washington Ave. Follow East Campus Ave to the Heron Point community and
bear right on Sassafras Dr, continuing to the large parking lot at the
end. Wesley Hall is upstairs in the building on your right as you enter
the parking area; enter through the large portico.
Good birding,
Walter Ellison & Nancy Martin
