We went for a walk in the neighborhood this a.m. and saw the following
birds:
Swainson's thrush (yard bird)
Black throated blue (yard bird)
Yellow-rumped warbler (yard bird)
Magnolia warbler (yard bird)
Scarlet tanager (2)
Red-eyed vireo
Am. Goldfinches
Yellow warbler
Tufted titmouse
Wood Thrush (2)
Heard:
Ovenbird
Black-throated green
Baltimore Oriole
Blackburnian Warbler
We have a wild cherry tree in the yard that has an exceptional number of
blossoms on it this year. The blossoms have made the tree a literal bird
magnet, attracting Scarlet tanagers (2 at once in a tree about 30 feet
high), and this morning a Magnolia Warbler. While they seed readily so will
make for weeding later on, these trees are really good to attract birds to
the yard.
