Sunny to partly cloudy; 50-80 degrees; winds calm becoming westerly and
strong, 0-20 mph, gusting to 31 mph; morning fog clearing to good
visibility.
Raptor Observations:
Just a terrific day with raptors flying right until the end of the count at
7:30 eastern daylight time; first Broad-winged Hawk and Merlin of the
season; very good kestrel day
Non-raptor Observations:
Little Blue Heron and Barn Swallow making first appearances of the season;
13 migrant Common Loons; 3 Wilson's Snipe feeding at the tidal edge on the
beach

Site Description:
Fort Smallwood Park is located on the western shore of Chesapeake Bay at
the mouth of the Patapsco River, 11 miles south of Baltimore, MD. Best
winds are from the southwest.
