Interesting. I also heard Tim Gallagher's talk at the MOS convention
last year. I was a potential believer when I came in the room and a
potential believer when I left.
It's true, however, that the issue won't be resolved without much more
definitive evidence, such as really good video. (Or even - dare I say it
- capturing an Ivory-billed Woodpecker alive to measure and photograph
it in the field, then releasing it, much as bird banders do.)
