Lisa and I spent about 1 1/2 hours at Sandy Point State Park on a very warm
Saturday afternoon. Not a lot of action out on the bay - a few small rafts of
Bufflehead and some Lesser Scaup.
As we were getting ready to head for our car, what should we see but a
lone BROWN PELICAN flying southward low over the bay on the Anne Arundel
side. I checked the Yellowbook when we got home - apparently this is a rare,
but not unheard-of, sighting for January in Maryland
Good Birding!
