Very few calls over my house last night while recording between 11 PM
and 6 AM. A few Savannah, Chipping, Song and White-throated Sparrows
and 1 call from Lincoln's/Swamp complex. From Gail Mackiernan's Rock
crk report it appears sparrows were on move. Maybe sparrows do not call
in night migtration as frequently (or as late in the night) as warblers
and thrushes. I wonder what the overall number of birds is on Sept
night when the neotrops are passing through vs. an Oct night during
sparrow migration.
Winds are forecast to be out of north again tonight. I am gonna put my
recording gear out earlier (despite traffic and jet noise) and see
(hear) what happens.
