I saw about 250 migrating Broad-winged hawks between 11 AM and noon today (Sep 22) at Soldiers Delight NEA. I was viewing from near the visitor center. Major kettles ranged from about 30 to 80 birds at a time, gathering mainly over Deer Park Rd. Winds were fairly strong from the southwest and it was almost 100% cloudy. I'll be interested to see if this correlates with big numbers at Cromwell Valley despite what would seem to be the opposite of favorable conditions. Warblers were very scarce - one BT Green and a Black & White.

Yesterday, Sep 21, Pete Webb and I got good looks at an adult female Mourning Warbler at Milford Mill Park. Migrants were pretty decent overall, including:

Nashville Warbler - Pete only
Magnolia Warbler 
Black-throated Blue Warbler
Black-throated Green Warbler - Pete only
Black-and-white Warbler
American Redstart
Ovenbird
Mourning Warbler ****
Hooded Warbler **
Scarlet Tanager
Rose-breasted Grosbeak

I also enjoyed a new yard bird when I got home- a fly-over Red-headed Woodpecker.
