National Arboretum, DC, Azalea Collection, 5/12/06, 9-10 a.m.
Very birdy, and as usual I was able only to get a small
selection of what was around before heading into work. Almost everything
was singing...
Red-Eyed Vireo
Wood Thrush (heard)
Northern Parula (heard)
Common Yellowthroat
Black-Throated Blue Warbler
Carolina Wren
White-Throated Sparrow (still hanging out...)
Veery
Great-Crested Flycatcher (heard)
Indigo Bunting (one adult male, one juvenile)
Ovenbird
Eastern Towhee (f)
Eastern Wood Pee-Wee (heard)
Grey Catbird
... And a bright yellow warbler that was either a Wilson's or a
Hooded, but didn't give me good looks. Sigh.
