Three of us joined Middleton Evans for the Saturday morning walk at
Patterson Park. The most unexpected bird was a Wilson's Snipe at the pond, flying in
and out of the marsh vegetation several times. A Least Sandpiper and a Green
Heron were on the island. A Red-breasted Nuthatch was on one of the big trees
up the hill, where we also enjoyed long looks at a male Scarlet Tanager.
