WILSON'S WARBLER, College Park

Good day along the Paint Branch Stream Valley Park path in 
College Park, PG County.  Started with my first ACADIAN 
FLYCATCHER of the year, at the Cherry Hill Rd head of the 
trail.  Also my first VEERY for the trail at the same 
location (Ryan Farrell reported one a week or so ago in the 
same area I believe).  Nine warbler species, including my 
first WILSON'S WARBLER of the year (near the last bridge 
before the university 11b parking lot)---nice look at a 
singing male, and my first BLACK-THROATED GREEN WARBLER and 
BLACK-AND-WHITE WARBLER for the trail this year.  Another 
highlight was a singing male ROSE-BREASTED GROSBEAK just 
south of MD-193 on the stream side of the trail.

Checklist diary notes:
Clear and cool with calm winds. First-of-year birds: Acadian 
Flycatcher, Wilson's Warbler (male), and Rose-breasted 
Grosbeak (male). First-of-year for the path: Black-throated 
Green Warbler, Black & White Warbler. First-of-path bird: 
Veery. There may have been 2 more Wood Ducks, a second Great 
Blue Heron, Killdeer, and Downy Woodpecker, and many more 
Cedar Waxwings (flyover flock, but not sure of the ID). One 
Eastern Kingbird may have been tending a nest. Two 
Red-bellied Woodpeckers exchanged places in a tree cavity. 
May have glimpsed an Eastern Phoebe and heard Blue-headed 
Vireo, Blackpoll Warbler, and Field Sparrow.
