Took my first trip of the spring to Rock Creek (DC) this morning. Highlight was good looks at 2 Blue-winged Warblers (1 at Picnic Area 17, the other by the stables). Good numbers of Palm (I only saw Yellow) Warbler and Blue-headed Vireo around. Other warblers included Yellow-rumped, Black-and-White (2), Worm-eating and Ovenbird (last 2 heard only). Other neotrops were Red-eyed Vireo, Baltimore Oriole, Great-crested Flycatcher and Eastern Kingbird. Plenty of flyover Blue Jays. Gail and Barry stayed longer and might have turned up something interesting at the Maintenance Yard.
Good birding
