I did not get around to posting this last night, but yesterday while
conducting fieldwork in a woodlot in Queen Anne's County (at the US 301/MD
304 intersection), I heard the characteristic call note of a WOOD THRUSH.
The bird flew past me and landed on the ground nearby, affording a good
look. I also had a late Hermit Thrush yesterday as well. On an atlassing
note, plenty of conspicuous nest building going on with robins and
starlings. I also had some suspicious potential nest building behavior by a
couple of fish crows that will require another visit.
