... new yard birds. This evening about half an hour ago we heard a Whip-poor-will singing loudly for just a few minutes.
Usually here, overlooking the salt marsh, we hear Chuck-will's-widows after dark and just before dawn most of the way through the late spring and early summer. The Whip was a new bird though and one we've had difficulty finding elsewhere in Worcester County.
What a wonderful finish to an otherwise windy and somewhat dismal weekend!
