Hello All,
Several expected spring arrivals appeared at Oak Grove yesterday 3/12. They included Field Sparrow (singing), Tree Swallow (one day off my early date), Pine Warbler (4 singing), 2 Yellow-rumped Warblers and 1 Eastern Phoebe. I had had a wintering Phoebe for several years, but not for the last two winters. Also, 65 Tundra Swans remain at Kinder Rd and North Oak Grove Rd (ties late date). I believe this is the first time I have had Tundra Swan and Tree Swallow together here. Also, I finally saw the male Harrier that Shelly has seen several times this winter, but she still had to point it out to me or I would have missed it again. In all, 47 species for the day. After looking at my records, I was surprised to find that was a new daily high for March. 72 species for the year so far.
Good Birding,
