I arrived at the National Wildlife Visitor Center this morning to find about 40 Tundra Swans (mix of adults and juveniles) on Lake Redington, directly across from the VC patio. As I'm writing this item, they are all hunkered down along the far shoreline. According to the staff, they were here yesterday as well. Must be waiting for the wind to subside.
Last year, in January, we had about 10 TUSWs on the lake during a minor snow squall.
If the wind persists, they may be here this weekend.
