Cromwell Valley Park HawkWatch Thursday, Sept. 29th 2005
A well defined cold front passed through our region today between 10 and 11 o'clock. Leaving
work at 2:00pm, I was greeted by a beautiful blue sky with scattered clouds and a brisk NW wind.
Perfect hawk weather. By 2:45pm I was scanning the skies at CVP.
The bird of the day was a Peregrine falcon (our 7th this season!!) which, as it flew facing the sun,
had what appeared to be a very light colored forehead. I'll have to look that one up, since there are
various subspecies.
