I had planned to take the day off and go birding when
it looked like the sun would be shining. Argh.

So, anyway, I sat in my car in Kenilworth Park in
Northeast for quite a while hoping to hear the
meadowlark from last weekend. Argh. But, I did see a
silent FIELD SPARROW near my car, and I heard two
singing YELLOW-BREASTED CHATS in different parts of
the park (one near the first parking lot and the other
behind the barrier at the 'end' of the road.

I drove around the National Aroboretum in Northeast,
where, to my surprise, I heard another YELLOW-BREASTED
CHAT! This one was singing near the old columns from
the Capitol. I spent quite a while in my car near the
top of Hickey Hill, reading the paper, and eventually
heard a singing PINE WARBLER.
