Just saw a late male Junco at the ground seed. The regular crew seemed to leave last Tuesday night (4-19). Hadn't seen or heard any since then. This was a lone bird that looked a bit rumpled. His feathers looked almost lopsided. Checked his feet and legs with the binoculars - they looked fine. He was alert and eating well, didn't stay long. Hope he will continue with a successful migration.
Have any of you seen any Juncos lately?
Two female Downies were just competing for supremacy over the suet. They were displaying with fanned wing and tail feathers.
