Hi Stan and all,
After you left I ran into Pete Webb and friends who had found the Sora at
Hughes Hollow. Killer looks through my scope at maybe 30 feet, and later I found
another rail but alas not the VA Rail, but an Americn Coot! Didn't have as
much luck with the warblers and vireos, but did manage Yellow, Yellow-rumped,
Prothonotary, Common Yellowthroat (female), western Palms, N. Waterthrush,
White-eyed Vireo, Warbling Vireo, and Yellow-throated Vireo, as well as a couple of
Purple Finches, and Orchard Oriole. A momma Wood Duck had lots of babies in
tow. I also saw a single Rusty Blackbird.
Not much else worth mentioning.
