Hi Folks,
Bill Hubick and I met at the Belle Grove Ponds late this afternoon to see if
the N. Shrike was still around. No luck today. From there I headed to
Southwest Area Park where I hiked a couple of circuits. Saw my first GREAT
EGRET of the year, flying along the Patapsco River towards Baltimore, and
flushed five W. SNIPE from the muck near the roadside. At dusk I heard a
single male RING-NECKED PHEASANT crowing briefly, and then had a single AM.
WOODCOCK peenting. I left a little early to get to see or hear the bulk of
the woodcock activity, which is normally quite good here.
