A couple of close birder friends from CT joined me there on Saturday. They thoroughly enjoyed seeing a life bird - even if the view was less than ideal, it was enough to say it was a Lapwing. We were concerned about how the folks at the church were going to react about a bunch of birders camping out in their cemetary. We ate breakfast at a reseraunt in Thurmont. They left a business card from their bird club in CT saying that they were in the area birdwatching and had just contributed to the economy of the area by patronizing their establishment. Does the MOS have such cards that we could use?

Quick survey question for all you lapwing-seekers:

If you've been up to Creagerstown and have met birders who came from other
states (or countries?) for the same purpose, I'd like to know *which states*
those were. Please answer ASAP, as I need the info for a presentation. You
can e-mail me directly if you want. Thanks!

To start the ball rolling... on Graceham Road I've met birders from
Pennsylvania (duh), Delaware, Virginia, and Maine.
