Greetings,
I was at the Graceham Rd. location until just before 6:00pm. At that time I
took a cruise by the Blacks Mill Rd. location to be sure it hadn't turned up
there and found everyone still milling around and talking. I continued on to
the creek crossing 1/2 mile father down Blacks Mill and when I returned a
few minutes later, everyone on Blacks Mill had left. I then drove by
Graceham Rd. one more time to be sure that the bird had not returned there
and found the caravan from Blacks Mill making a drive by as well. Alas, no
Lapwing had made an appearance.
The Lapwing was last seen at Graceham Rd. at around 10:00am this morning
where it was reported to have flown off to the south with a single Killdeer.
A few minutes later it had turned up at the Blacks Mill site but only stayed
a few minutes and flew off from there as well. The last person to see the
bird at Blacks Mill wasn't sure in which direction he saw the bird flying
when it took off. Hopefully, the bird will make a return to the locations in
which it was found over the last few days.
