Yesterday I did miles 104, 105, and 106 of the C&O Canal Count in Washington County. This includes Dam #5 and downstream. Below are the numbers from each mile for each species:

Species and numbers of passerines were down from last year. Numbers of geese were up. Snow cover was about two inches. Starting temperature was about 8-10 degrees. The Potomac was mostly open except above the dam which was virtually all ice.
