There were 2 Red-throated Loons in the Potomac River between Seneca and Lowes Is (VA) Sunday, 12/5/04, at about 0930 observed by Linda Millington, Kim Peacock and myself.  One bird was completely into winter plumage and the other appeared to be a HY bird just starting into winter plumage.  The birds were feeding in the calm water about mid-channel.

No Cave Swallows were observed.  But there was a southbound Merlin hugging the MD/VA boundary line.
