This morning at 6 AM while walking the dogs, I heard the first Great Horned
Owl of the season calling from the trees across from Rt 161 and Moxley Road in
west Havre de Grace.
Shortly after the GHO stopped calling, I was surprised to hear a Screech Owl
in the same area. Then at 10 AM, as I stepped outside I heard the repeated
cries of a Red-Shouldered Hawk. It was really nice starting my day with three
of my favorite birds.
By the way, no Short Eared Owls appeared at dusk by Beauveau Ponds in
Southern Maryland yesterday. Maybe they haven't arrived yet?
