Folks
I went out about 8 AM to the Old Port Tobacco Courthouse (PT) area in Charles County. It was pretty birdy until about 10 AM. I then wandered around the area (Chapel Point State Park, Nitza Farm, Allen's Fresh) until I got hungry.

Yard birds of late:
Great-horned Owl on Sept. 24.
Red-breasted Nuthatch on Sept. 25 (3rd for the season)
Wood Thrush each day for four days
On Saturday, Sept. 25 I found my first Yellow-rumped "Myrtle" Warbler of the season (#125 for September) at a mitigation pond in Waldorf. There was a Magnolia Warbler also present. This location looks like it could be a good shorebird spot. Hopefully, some tropical depression birds will show up on Tuesday.
Bird on!
George
P.S. A day in Charles County without a Bald Eagle. That's unusual. |
