Hi all,
Last nights passing storm-front brought with it many dozens of C. Nighthawks
flying over my house and environs here in Ashton. They were mostly flying
fairly low, many offering good looks (as good as can be had with these fast
flyers). The first wave I watched as I walked the dog shortly before 6 PM and
they were all heading north!. Later as the clouds thickened, the birds began
coming through lower and to the south. Lots of Chimney Swifts also flying a bit
higher than the nighthawks.
Sounds like a great pelagic this weekend. We couldn't make though, as we had
to take my youngest daughter to UDel for freshman move-in weekend. One
fledged, one still half in the nest!
