Fran and I arrived at Hughes Hollow at 5 pm to find Tom Marko
already there for at least half an hour. Mike Welch joined us about
5:30 and at 6 pm Tom Marko's sharp eyes found the gallinule very
close to the west edge of the south impoundment, feeding in the
relatively short spatterdock about 50-75 feet from the levee.
Great bird--thanks to all who have posted such wonderful directions!
Best,
Norm
