I was coming home from Washington County, at around 5pm May 2nd, on Route
70, coming down South Mountain in noticed a smaller bird gliding in the wind
currents below two Turkey Vultures. When the bird banked almost above me I
noticed it had all dark under parts. It had along slender body and tail,
wings were long, narrow, and pointed but not as much as a falcon. The way
it was gluiding in the wind immediatly reminded me of typical kite flight.
By the time I pulled over the bird was sailing away to the north and I was
unable to get a picture. I was able to watch it long enough to rule out
other raptors by size, shape, and flight style.
