Paula,
I saw no dogs with this particular two man boat. There were others in a boat
in another area that we stopped at to check for waterfowl. The area which we
sighted the men in camouflage was at the far end of the path beyond the
boardwalk. There were at least a dozen or more decoy. The boat was quite
close to shore which greatly concerned me. Shots were being fired recklessly.
I saw several shots aimed in the direction of shore.
Duck hunting 30 feet from a trail in a state park that is open to the public
has to be one of the most incredibly irresponsible acts I have ever
witnessed. I am quite aware that hunting is allowed in refuges, however, at
Bombay Hook the area is closed to the public when hunting season is open.
