At the beach:
Bonaparte's Gull -- 30
Great Black-backed Gull -- 2
Oldsquaw -- 12
Bufflehead -- 100
Horned Grebe -- 2
Common Loon -- 8
Sanderling -- 29
Bald Eagle -- 2
Red-shouldered Hawk -- 1
Red-tailed Hawk -- 2
Duncan's Pond:
Green-winged Teal -- 12
American Coot -- 1
Gadwall -- 35
Hooded Merganser -- 2
American Widgeon -- 70
American Black Duck -- 2
Mallard -- 7
Common Buckeye butterflies are still seen in the beach area and one Monarch
was spotted migrating south.
I should note that the trails are closed to the public. They are still
being repaired from the damage caused by Hurricane Floyd but the beach area
is open to the public on weekends.
