A lovely autumn day at Rt. 100. The sparrows were in great numbers with WHITE-THROATS and WHITE-CROWNS everywhere. There were FIELD scattered throughout and SONGS in almost every thicket. 3 FOX sparrows were glorious with colors that rivaled the foliage. A single SAVANNAH seemed lonely and SWAMPS kept to the cattails. We noted half a dozen PALM WARBLERS with one a white "western" race. A couple PHOEBES were dining well with all the bugs in flight. Bonnie Ott p.s. Siskins still at the feeder. Maybe Leslie's deserted for my house, I had 26 at once.
