The winter complement of birds seems to be settling in.
On the Mall today I found several small flocks of
juncos and White-throated Sparrows. There were a couple
of Hermit Thrushes around Constitution Gardens, a
Red-tailed Hawk was soaring over the American History
Museum, and a Golden-crowned Kinglet was in the woods
near the DC Veteran's Memorial.
There were a few birds that may be moving on soon.
In Constitution Gardens, I saw (1) each of Eastern Phoebe,
Yellow-rumped Warbler, and Blackpoll. A Brown Thrasher
was in the woods near the DC Veteran's Memorial.
