[MDOsprey] Lunch

I was out pruning a bush this morning so that I could see the bird
feeder better from my kitchen window. I was bending the tall limbs over
and cutting them with pruners when I heard a call. I glanced over my
shoulder and saw a Sharp-shinned Hawk coming directly towards me with
talons first aimed at my eyes. He turned at the last second and landed
in my pecan tree, but not before I had a taste of what lunch might feel
like.
I guess the movement of the seed pods and the squeek of the pruners must
have been a good imitation of prey. Still calling it made another pass,
this time just zipping close by. I am sure to check out how it was
fooled. Then it landed in a cedar with small birds flying in all
directions.
I hope it found lunch.
