After warblers and Broad-wings to the north, we found the AWPelican off the Belle Haven picnic area on Sat, Sept 18, between 12:20 and 1:30. At one point, disturbed by a boat, the bird lifted off and flew low over the water for about 2 minutes. It was like a giant leaf blower, scattering everying in its path--hundreds of gulls and terns and even Canada Geese. Lydia Schindler Darnestown
