I met Harvey and Marian Mudd, and Paul O'Brien at Rileys Lock and observed the Potomac for a couple of hours. Not much flying that was unusual. Best bird: a female Merlin which was flying upriver and upwind, and perched briefly on the snag just downstream from where Seneca Creek enters the river. Also an adult Bald Eagle and a late Nighthawk. Bob Mumford Darnestown
