Does anyone know if Mississippi Kites still occur along the Meherrin River in southern Virginia, at the NC border? Our British visitor is still looking for that species, despite a couple of trips to Huntley Meadows (where sightings seem to have dropped off in the past week). We have managed to locate a number of his target species, with special thanks to many internet birders who provided detailed directions to some difficult species. Right now we are still hoping for a local Wormeating W. (we know they are around!). Now that the cold front has come through we should see some early migrants, too...
