I attended a ranger led bird walk this sultry summer morning. Ranger Dave Farner was our leader and he wants to do more walks. Let's encourage this! Best bird of the morning was probably yellow-breasted chat. Also had good looks at the resident kestrals, and opreys; and glimpses of what may have been orioles. (Ranger has been seeing orioles of both species, but they were playing hard to get today.) Balance of list was species that would be expected in overgrown fields and small woodlots. A cooler day might have yielded more, and will try again when the weather cools down. Linda Baker
