Steve, I had the opportunity to go for Kirtland's Warbler last summer. We had a tour with the USFWS. We did see the bird, although the day was miserable. The land with the jack pine habitat that is necessary for their breeding is controlled by the USFWS. I understand that it is an act of tresspassing to go on the land where to tours go. Without being able to go here, your chances would be very slim. One spot where they took us had a mile long trail through old growth pine before you got to the jack pine. It was well hidden. The other spot was directly on the side of a road, but was well marked with "Endangered Wildlife Habitat: No Tresspassing" signs. But hey, it is always worth a shot. Joe Chronowski Churchville, MD
