Val Kitchens called in on behalf of the Northern Virginia Bird Club
field trip at Chingocteague to say that a Purple Gallinule has been
found on the Wash Flats during the Safari ride.  It was seen at
3:30 and 4:30, 3.6 miles north of the service road gate in a borrow
pond.  To see this bird you must either walk in or ride on the 
Safari bus which will be going tomorrow (Sunday, May 23).  If you
wish to make a reservation for the Safari trip the number is:
757-336-6155 or 6154.  You can also make reservations at the 
visitor's center at the refuge.
