That's 8 more species folks.
However, I am scratching Golden-winged and Chestnut-sided
warblers, since I am told these were seen in DC vice MD. The
Yellow-billed Cuckoo seen in Rock Creek at the same time,
has been seen in MD, so that one will stay. Iff anyone has
seen the warblers in MD, though, please let me know.
Total for the last two weeks is 36 plus one new species. This
gives us 272 plus 4 possible new species and a grand total of
276. I will be updating the list itself over the weekend.
The Mississippi OS has logged in 286 as of May 5. This is
the closest we have been since we began this friendly
competition. GO MD MOS!
I thank everyone for their patience over the last couple of
weeks. I know many of you submitted duplicates not knowing
what the current status of the list was at the time of
submission, and I thank you all for your continuing
enthusiasm.
