Matt,

Rather than reel off a list of sites everyone knows about and will 
probably share with you, let me recommend that you RUN to the 
Smithsonian or to your local nature bookstore and pick up a copy 
of Claudia Wilds' "Finding Birds in the National Capital Area."  
Although beginning to be a little dated this is still the definitive work 
to birding sites within a 200-mile radius of Washington, including 
many great locales in Southern Maryland!
