Hello,

Just when I got out of the car in downtown Bethesda on this chilly morning,
I saw a large bird flying no more than 30 feet over the roadways, flying
east from Wisconsin Avenue (I am parking in a different lot this week). As
this shape drew closer, I realized that it was an adult Cooper's Hawk, as I
could see the light gray back and the orange bars underneath. I think it
was a female, as it appeared to be long and bulky. In mid-December I
twice saw a large Cooper's Hawk over a nearby parking lot, on one occasion
eating its kill on top of a parked delivery van.
