     The band should be reported to the Bird Banding Laboratory at 
     1-800-327-BAND. They will ask her for the appropriate information and 
     will give her some information on the bird. Later she will receive a 
     Certificate of Appreciation with full information on the bird.

I received a note from someone who found a dead Blue Jay in her yard which
 was banded.  She said the band read:
         1142.38379 Laurel MD 20708.  How does she find out how to report
it?
