Yesterday PM, January 20, there was a large (3-400) flock of diving ducks on the Potomac across from the entrance of Seneca Creek. The flock was composed of Ring Necks, Scaup (sp), Redheads, Canvasback and Red-breasted Mergs. Maybe a few Ruddies. I have never seen this number or variety of diving ducks in the Potomac in this vicinity. Upstream there were handfuls of Coots, Mallards and Blacks and a Winter Wren (not waterborne).
