Goldfinch 434 We had about 76 observers in the field (conditions were mostly cloudy, winds SW 10-20 mph with gust >25+, temps ranging 32 to 57) and about 7 feeder watchers. We tallied 87 species, 2 more than last year, but just about average for this count. Date of the count was Saturday December 19,1998. I don't know off hand if we set any records for high numbers, etc. I would have to look back in my records, and haven't yet had a chance to do so.
