We had about 76 observers in the field (conditions were mostly cloudy, winds
SW 10-20 mph with gust >25+, temps ranging 32 to 57) and about 7 feeder
watchers. We tallied 87 species, 2 more than last year, but just about average
for this count. Date of the count was Saturday December 19,1998.
I don't know off hand if we set any records for high numbers, etc. I would
have to look back in my records, and haven't yet had a chance to do so. Hope
you find this abridged compilation helpful and/or fun to read. Happy New Year
to all MDOspreyers!
