Today (Sunday, Nov. 29th)) I made a brief (3-4 pm) visit to
Huntley Meadows. I did not lack company on such a beautiful
(?Global Warming) afternoon. These are the birds I saw (as
a population ecologist, I do not trust estimates over 10):
Great Blue Herons (3)
Canada Geese
Mallards
Hooded Mergansers
Lesser Yellowlegs (4)
Ring-billed Gull (1)
Kingfisher (1)
American Crows
Carolina Chickadees
Carolina Wren (1)
Bluebirds
Mockingbird (1)
Cardinal (1)
Song Sparrows
Red-winged Blackbirds
Rail have been seen recently. Virginia Rails may also be lurking
about.
