        Bryan Monk and I were at Conowingo Dam on Tuesday, November 3,
1998, from 7:30 - 10:00 a.m. We spent most of the time looking at the river
above the dam. Along with the usual suspects, highlights included:

Red-throated Loon               1
Common Loon                     9
Pied-billed Grebe               2
Double-crested Cormorant        15
BLACK SCOTER                    16
Oldsquaw                        4 (arrival)
Bufflehead                      1 (female; arrival)
Lesser Scaup                    23 (arrival)
Bonaparte's Gull                200
Ring-billed Gull                1500
Forster's Tern                  20

        In addition, Bryan had 3 PECTORAL SANDPIPERS at the marina in Havre
de Grace on Monday, November 2
