possible plan for a hawkwatch platform

Hi!
I am only a new member, however, I would like to comment on the
idea of the hawkwatch site. A park for birders is a great idea. But, if
people are walking their dogs (and they WON'T keep them on leashes) the
birds will soon disappear. A good alternative is for strolls, human only,
and birding. That way the paths won't get too abused by dogs. Don't get
me wrong, I love dogs, but the parks I go in are hard for birds and birders
alike when the dogs are running, barking and fighting. Take a look at
Robert E Less Park for example. Also, ground nesting birds are not safe if
dogs are about off leash.
I'd like to join you on your hawkwatch somtime.
