Subject: Brown Pelicans at Point Lookout
Norm,
Because my father is temporarily disconnected from MDOsprey
due to mix-ups at the GAO, could you please forward this for
us if the message we sent to MDOsprey does not get through.
Thanks.
On August 30, I saw 7 BROWN PELICANS at Point Lookout State
Park, St. Mary's County, MD, flying NE up the bay. There
were three groups of 4, 2, and 1 birds.
Also there were the WOOD STORK, LARK SPARROW, and an
AMERICAN BITTERN in the south side of the pool where the
stork was.
At the North Beach pond were 2 SEMIPALMATED PLOVERS, many
LEAST, SEMIPALMATED, and WESTERN SANDPIPERS along with some
SHORT-BILLED DOWITCHERS and about 5 WHITE-RUMPED SANDPIPERS.
Also at Pt. Lookout were many CLOUDLESS SULPHERS mostly
flying towards the end of the point. We saw about 10 per
minute. Many were actually flying out over the bay. Very
few stopped on the point. There were a few BUCKEYES as
well.
